Safe Clamping Technology for Ballistic Tests on Confiscated Weapons

Flexible recording of complex types of weapons for remote-controlled firing tests

Overview

Challenge

During forensic tests of confiscated firearms, a wide variety of types of weapons — from hunting rifles to improvised homemade solutions — must be tested for their ability to shoot. For safety reasons, no person should be in the room during the shot attempt. At the same time, the weapons must be clamped stably, repeatably and formally — with a high variance of geometries and considerable force when shooting.

Matrix solution

The X-CLAMP system offers robust, adaptable clamping technology that is ideal for accommodating a wide variety of types of weapons. The Matrix Pins adapts flexibly to the shape and shape of the weapon and secure them reliably — even in the event of abrupt movements or recoil forces. The clamping system makes it possible to switch between weapons quickly without having to design new holding devices.
