| MATRIX is the winner of the regional innovation award This award has be presented each year since 1985 to those industrial, crafts and technological companies that show exemplary performance in the field of developing new products, processes and technological services or in applying modern technologies in products, production and services. The award is design to provide public recognition for the outstanding efforts of small- and medium-sized enterprises in the development and application of new technologies. On Tuesday, November 28, 2006 this award will be presented by the economics minister Ernst Pfister, MdL, to MATRIX. |

Sanft gebettet

Using versatile pin-clamping systems to fix complicated workpieces in position
The more complicated the geometry of the workpiece to be held, the higher the requirements on the clamping apparatus. With versatile pin-clamping systems it is possible to fix in position even elaborately shaped parts quickly and safely. The pressure is kept as low as possible, the distributed spread of clamping force avoids vibrations.

These pins clamp securely
The requirements for tooling systems for small and medium batch sizes are very complex. Technically, a high degree of precision and high rigidity is required. Economically, the setup times have to be reduced. The jig must therefore be easy to handle and be very versatile in accommodating different products. New and, above all, versatile clamping systems are required for complex part geometries such as turbine blades, or for parts with unfinished surfaces such as castings, sections and prototypes. Conventional systems come up against their limits when faced with such workpieces.

Softly Bedded
It is necessary to check the geometric characteristics of a workpiece as quickly as possible. If these parts are not series-produced but rather prototypes, single parts, small series or initial samples, no appropriate workpiece fixture is generally available. If the jig adjusts to the shape of the workpiece, type changes can be implemented very quickly.
